It Takes so long...
At some point we'll likely have problems with injury or pain in the body. Often this is played off as an age thing... To us this is as useful as saying as BMI is a good gauge for health!
If you've waited to see a physio it can be weeks on the NHS. Sometimes the problem 'corrects itself' and others it gets worse during this time. We've learned through experience that injury and pain can be like an iceberg. What you can feel can simply be surface level symptoms, this is often what's treated. It might work in the short term, but its a cure treatment not a future proof prevention.

If you touch a hot pan or trap your finger, the instant reaction is shaking the hand to minimise pain sensation... This helps to mask the pain in the short term. The same is true with therapeutic treatments for injuries; massage, mobilisations, manipulations etc. They can fix the problem in the short-term, but what about longterm health?
Quality
Exercise is being pushed for all types of conditions. It works the same for rehabilitation, one common thing with injury is a weakness or restriction at the site of pain and usually other joints close by. How you move can change to avoid pain, but this puts more stress on other parts of the body. Think about having right knee pain you will shift more weight to the left, placing more stress on the hip of that side. Short-term this is extremely effective, but it can alter the way you walk resulting in other problems like back pain...
