FAQ's
New to strength training? Got some questions you want answered? Hopefully this page can answer some of the most common ones we get. If you still have questions use the contact form below and we'll be happy to help!
How is it different from other classes?
We structure training vs simply working out. This means we plan progressions for our programmes that consistently tests and challenges you, which in turn guarantees you consistently get better and see results faster and keep them longer.
What hours are you open?
Click Here for our timetable. Our first session starts at 06:00am our last sessions starts at 20:00pm. We have open training on Saturday (check your membership). Personal training is available throughout the day.
Will strength training make me 'bulky'?
Strength training will increase muscle definition (tone up). You will change the shape of your body but not to the extent that you will become bulky and big. You will become a leaner, stronger and fitter version of yourself as a result.
Is it for me?
Strength training is for everyone, no matter the ability level there are benefits beyond just fitness and strength. If you're looking to lose weight and develop muscle definition its for you. If you want to test yourself and see how strong you can become it's for you. If you've had an injury and worried about training, there are benefits for this too.
Do i Need to be fit?
Everyone starts somewhere. We structure our training programmes on movement, if you're unable to perform a back squat for instance we will modify that movement for you. As you get stronger and more mobile we will challenge you in new ways based on your own abilities.
How long before I see results?
Straight away! From the first workout you will notice the difference. It will require consistent effort on your part to see long term results, but the coaches will break everything down to you when you start.
How many people are in the class?
There will be up to 8 people in our Strongfit, 12 in our Learn2Lift and weightlifting programmes. We only work in small groups to ensure you get the most out of your training and coaches can help you develop high quality movement.
How will I progress?
Our coaches will guide you through sessions giving you cues on how to execute movement. They also emphasise asking questions. We want to you to constantly get better and stronger, so if you have concerns or problems we're here to help.
what happens during the sessions?
Sessions have 4 elements. Mobility - increasing the range of your joints. Strength warm up - work through movements planned for main session. Main strength/skill - Whole body movements to challenge your body. Conditioning/core - The feel good element to finish off a great session.
