There are infinite ways to reach your goals... Most of us want variations of the same things. Weight loss, tone up (or muscle definition as the correct term), strength, confidence or feeling good in our clothes. But, if there are so many ways to reach them why do so many of us fall flat on our faces only to quit and start again later?
Doing what you enjoy vs doing what you've been told...
Starting out in fitness you want to help everyone. I've been there, filled with the enthusiasm to help people reach their goals, made the pitch to tell them it is possible and all they need is your knowledge.
We all have our own ideals of what works best to reach a goal in strength, fitness or weight loss. The truth is it depends... It depends solely on the person engaging in the programme. Many people will jump from one thing to another and see short-term results, but lose those and even relapse in the long term.
A lot of the times they're doing the exact things they need in order to get the results that they want, They're just not committed. They claim to put the effort in and this is absolutely true... During the honeymoon period. They lose focus and commitment, but then move onto the next thing suggesting they need more motivation.
